#Pinkbox Dignity Vending Machines
What is a #Pinkbox Dignity Vending Machine?
Purely and simply the #Pinkbox Dignity Vending Machine, is a vending machine that dispenses a FREE pack of 6 tampons and 2 pads. Share the Dignity supply the vending machine, for FREE, install the vending machine and keep it supplied with FREE products.
Share The Dignity is proud to place #Pinkbox Dignity Vending Machines in areas where women and girls need them most. We believe that access to pads and tampons is a right, not a privilege and that no woman should ever have to choose between eating and living with dignity. No girl should ever miss a day of education because she can’t afford sanitary items. At Share The Dignity we are passionate about empowering women and girls to live a life time of dignity and safety. To ensure access to pads and tampons to the most vulnerable women and girls, we’re installing #Pinkbox Dignity Vending Machines in public toilets, charities, homeless hubs, domestic violence refuges, community centres, Aboriginal health services and schools across Australia. By installing these free tampon vending machines, women and girls are able to access pads and tampons. We’ve selected locations where they are needed most. Each #Pinkbox delivers a “Period Pack” containing two pads and six tampons on demand. Each #Pinkbox Dignity Vending Machine is programmed with a delivery delay of 10 minutes to ensure that no period packs are wasted.
Inspiration for our Dignity Vending Machines
We were shocked to hear that women were using rolled up toilet paper and hand towels to manage their periods.
We were shocked to hear that girls in remote areas are opting to miss school rather than risk humiliation because they can’t afford pads and tampons.
The state of homelessness and poverty in Australia is shocking. We acted. We created the #Pinkbox.
At Share The Dignity we are passionate about ensuring women and girls live a life of dignity and safety. We believe that access to pads and tampons is a right, not a privilege and that no woman should ever have to choose between eating and managing their period. No girl should ever miss a day of education because she can’t afford sanitary items.
